Beekeepers
Beekeepers tend to vary greatly in methods used to care for their bees. What they do have in common is a love for the bees and their work.
Some try to avoid using miticides or other chemicals on the hives. This has been shown to reduce damage done to bee health.
Integrated pest management techniques (IPM) are often more encouraged over the use of chemicals
The use of miticides over a long time can strengthen the pests resistance and disrupt the pest host relationship
They can avoid feeding bees sucrose or HFCS for this can result in inadequate nutrition.
for every beehive, one acre of forage is needed to support the bees nutritionally.
By situating a beehive in a pollen diverse and pollen rich area this can allow for less cases of starvation.
It is advantageous to take advantage of beekeeping resources and know other beekeepers in the area.
